New York City Tour... or continue on to Long Island or New Jersey

Though Oscar Bach was born in Breslau, Germany, it is in New York City that he spent most of his adult life. His Manhattan studios maintained steady prosperity throughout the 1920s and 1930s, providing fine custom metalwork for society’s wealthiest members along with quantities of mass-produced objects for the middle market, while remaining fairly immune to the economic crisis brought about in 1929. The following provides a tour of Manhattan highlighting sites of Oscar Bach’s commissions, former studio and showroom space and residences. We have noted the date of each commission in parentheses. There is much more Bach to be found in New York City.  Please check back for updates.
