The cast ring base has an incised line near each edge, and unifies the hoofed feet of four ram monopods with acanthus-ornamented cabriole legs. The rams support on their backs a dish-shaped pan with a rough hammered texture. Two cigarette holders mounted on the pan's rim take the form of a serpent's head and tail. An applied tag on the bottom bears the inscription OSCAR B BACH / NEW YORK / STUDIOS INC with a central image of a female profile flanked on each side by a B.
